Appointments can be made over the telephone or in person at reception. Alternatively, you can make an appointment via our Online Services.
Consultations are by appointment only and our receptionists will endeavour to give you a convenient appointment with your doctor.
Urgent appointments will be seen the same day. We will always give you an explanation if your appointment is delayed for any reason.
If you are unable to attend for your appointment please let us know as soon as possible by telephoning the surgery or via our Online Services.
Your appointment can be given to another person in need.
Please arrive on time. If you are late it may not be possible for the doctor to see you. The surgeries can run late due to unforseen circumstances – please be patient if this happens.
Home Visits are at the discretion of the doctor. Please do not ask the doctor to call unless the patient is genuinely too ill to come to surgery. For routine home visits please telephone before 10.00am.
All urgent home visits will be put through to the doctor. You will normally only be visited at home if your medical condition prevents you from coming to the surgery. Not having transport is not a reason for a home visit.
A receptionist will take your message and phone number and the doctor will ring you back at the end of the surgery. Any emergency calls will be handled immediately.
You may find it useful to discuss your problems with either NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or with the Practice Nurse.
If you need medical attention outside of normal surgery hours, please call the surgery in the normal way on 01234 743000. You will be transferred to the Out of Hours medical service which is situated in the Emergency Primary Care Centre at Bedford Hospital.
After your details have been taken, the doctor on call will contact you and assess your problem. You may be given advice or asked to come and see the doctor at Bedford Hospital.
The out of hours service is for medical emergencies only and all minor, routine or non-urgent matters should be dealt with during normal surgery hours.
If you require advice only please ring NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
