Travel Vaccinations

If you are planning a trip abroad it is important that you are vaccination against diseases prevalent in that area. Our Practice Nurse will advise you on requirement for immunisation against infections such as Rabies, Hepatitis A/B, Tetanus, Polio and Malaria.

We are also a registered Yellow Fever Centre. Please try to plan these well in advance as you may need a course of vaccinations over a period of six weeks or more.

Family Planning & Sexual Health

All aspects of family planning are catered for. Patients requiring oral contraceptives are seen during routine surgeries. We offer free condoms and pregnancy tests to under 25s and a coil fitting service.

If you would like a sexual health screen our surgery is able to offer this service. Confidentiality will still apply just like a GUM clinic. All tests can be done at the surgery and results with possible treatments will be given. This service is available with the Practice Nurse who is specially trained in sexual health and contraception.

Over 75s Health Check

If you are aged 75 years or over you should be seen by a member of the practice team i.e. doctor, practice nurse, health visitor or district nurse anually. This can be done at the surgery if you are well enough to attend. If  you are housebound a home visit will be offered.

Test Results

Please ensure that after any blood or urine tests, X-rays or scans, that you ring the surgery for the results. Due to patient confidentiality, results will normally only be given to the patient concerned. Please telephone between the hours of 11.00am – 2.00pm.

The receptionists will only be able to tell you if the results are normal. They will not be able to answer any further questions as they are not medically trained. If the test is abnormal you will be informed by the doctor.
